Video: The Kid Daytona “Friendz”

The Kid Daytona keeps the music coming as he releases a new video for ‘Friendz’. Directed by SodaKat for The Collective.

While out in Annecy, France… I met some good people that reminded me of some friends from NYC. Here I was, in a place I’ve never heard of before landing there, feeling like I was right at home. I wrote these raps over KRS One’s classic “A Friend” instrumental, mainly because I thought all of this “No New Friends” shit was corny… If new people come into your life and bring positivity, prosperity, and new money opportunities… I say welcome them with open arms! And on the flip side of that, having people in your life with no drive and a bunch of negativity isn’t healthy at all… With that said, enjoy the visuals… “Friendz”

Chi City ft. The Kid Daytona – Story To Tell

Chi City Story To Tell Cover

Hailing from Southside Chicago Chi City is undeniably one of the most lyrically explosive rappers in the Midwest. Chi City has inched his way into the music game as a writer, lyricist, performer, and he has been expanding his brand to reach audiences across the US.Unlike so many rappers out that talk more about partying and sex, Chi City’s “Story To Tell” tells the story of so many who strive to make it out of the streets and projects. From the start, the song hits you with a nice strong and smooth street beat. Chi City reminds us of a young Kanye West as he details the struggles to make ends meet and his dreams of success in an unbalanced and cruel world where he fights against becoming a statistic of the streets. Chi City reaches out to emerging East Coast emcee The Kid Daytona to paint a vivid picture of growing up in the streets of New York. In the end they share the same heart ache and pain as they both travel the same road to success.

The Kid Daytona drops off a brand new freestyle called ‘One Night Is All I Need’. Here is what he had to say about this one:

Last night in Paris, I was chillin in my room with a couple of peoples vibing out to a livestream of Hot97… Made me feel a little homesick, so I went in and did an impromptu freestyle for the homie Enuff.

Few weeks ago, The Kid Daytona dropped off a freestyle over Jay-Z’s ‘Picasso Baby’. Today, he returns with a visual for it, which he shot out in St. Emilion, France.

I just felt the pure vibes and the atmosphere of this old city. Known as most famous region in France for wine, this city also has amazing architecture… On the spot we just decided it would be perfect to shoot my Picasso Baby freestyle here. A kid from NYC’s inner city, out in the world enjoying and living life.

The Kid Daytona returns with a new freestyle over Jay-Z’s ‘Picasso Baby’ instrumental. Here is what he had to say about it:

With me headed back to France, I felt inspired to kick a few bars over Picasso Baby.. The whole fly art talk that Jay was displaying on the track, bought me back to my visit to Le Louvre. And all the images that I would see in text books, and magazines.. I was now seeing in person. Who’d have thought a kid from the South Bronx would be able to see other parts of the world, doing something that he loves and believes in.. And always dreamed of. Rap Music! Enjoy yall.

The Kid Daytona is back with a new freestyle over KRS-One’s ‘A Friend’ instrumental. Here is what he had to say about the track:

With the trend being everyone saying No New Friends and all, I figure that I bring to light… If new people come in to your life and bring positivity, prosperity, and new money opportunities.. I say welcome them with open arms! And on the flip side of that, having the same people in your life with no drive and a bunch of negativity isn’t healthy at all… I say, I dont need none of those!
